Bad Bobs - Thursday 1st March 2007

Before I start, the pictures will follow tomorrow!!(and here they are!) The more I am in the new Bobs, the more I love it! If you haven't been yet, you have got to check it out, and what better night to check it out than a Thursday! Last Thursday was nice and busy, so we decided to start things as soon as we could. Mark Walsh got the ball rolling, singing two songs for us. First he did RHCP Under the Bridge on his own, and then followed that up with The Saints Are Coming, which he sang with his good mate James Hennessy. Our next singer flew all the way in from Germany to sing for us! He is a student, but is not too sure what he is studying!! His name is Basti, and he sang the song from the movie Notting Hill, When You Say Nothing at All, by Ronan Keating, and if truth be known, he did a top job on it. Maybe he should quit college and get a job singing, or else just a job, the tax dodger!! It was like the UN in Bobs on Thursday! We had friends in from many different countries, and next up was Lucas who is from Warsaw in Poland. He sang Walking in Memphis by Marc Cohen, but he thought it was by Bruce Springstein because thats what it says on his computer. That shows you kids, illegal downloads is not the future! Next up we had an Aussie! Daniel, with the long dreadlocks (not the future either, short hair is the future!) sang a Foo Fighters song and he was really good, but nobody really knew it, so he did Losing My Religion by REM, just to get everyone singing along! Next up was a Dub! Elaine Right) also did two songs. First off was the Girls Aloud cover I'll Stand By You and then she did Boom Boom Boom Boom by the Vengaboys. Grab your unbrellas, because our next singer on stage is Shane Butler, who did two versions on My Way! First he did the Sex Pistols Version and then he did a mixture of Frank Sinatra and Sid Vicious. Shane, from now on will be called Frank Vicious! Our next singer on stage in Bobs was Leo, and he came all the way from Bedford (just like the trucks) in England. He sang the slowest song ever written! He did a cover of the Sinatra classic, as sung by Robbie Williams, One For My Baby, and a top job he did too! Bonjour Natacha! She came all the way from France, and did a smashing job of the Norah Jones song Don't Know Why! Next up was another English man. I thought they all would have been in hiding after last weeks hiding, but they were out in force! Darren came all the way from Surrey, and did Gun's N Roses Sweet Child of Mine, which is now becoming very popular at all the Karaoke Shows we do! Next up we had Canadas favourite son. He comes from a very remote part of Canada called Sydney! MC Marc (above left) brought a few people back to their youth with the song from MC Hammer, or Hammer as he was later know as, U Can't Touch This, and it went down really well, not as well as his freestyling though! You gotta come in and check this guy out! Next up we had Ant and Dec lover Paddy. He loves everything to do with Newcastle in fact! He sang Mustang Sally (think she is from Newcastle too!) by the Commitments, and as usual, he had the crowd in the palm of hs hand. Annie, Annie, Annie! Annie was up next! We only had time for one song from Annie, so we decided on The Pointer Sisters and I'm so Excited, and everyone was starting to loosten up and starting to dance, so thanks Annie! Next up was a real Canadian! His name is Paul, and he was in to sing before he and James went Busking, so I hope you guys made a fortune! In Bobs though, he sang Snow (Hey Oh) by the RHCP, and if he was Busking in Bobs with this track, he would have made a mint! Coming towards the end of the night now, and next up we had Michael. Dressed as Busted, he sand the U2 and BB King classic, When Love Comes to Town, and was as solid as ever. Last singer of the night was Rasher from Beaumont! Fresh from his success last week, he sang Rock DJ by Robbie Williams, and that had the whole place rocking and ready for our DJ, John, who took everyone through to the wee hours of the morning! Thanks for reading and thanks to everone for singing! Don't forget, Bad Bobs this and every Thursday night from now and until the end of time! Over and out.
