Howl at the Moon - Thursday 21st June 2007

Hi all! Firstly, there are no pictures today as we lost (or it was stolen!) our camera last night, so sorry! If you have it, leave it in Howl at the Moon behind the bar and we will say nothing! It was our first night in Howl at the Moon last night, and I have to say, it is a long time since I enjoyed a gig as much. Our first ever singer in Howl at the Moon, was Frank, who sang with no music, and I have a funny feeling he will be back every week, X Factor, here he comes! Next up was the lovely Catriona. She was out celebrating leaving her job in Eirgrid (I think!). Jane joined her on stage to sing Like a Virgin by Madonna, but that was cut short and they sang Build me up Buttercup instead, and they were quite good, when they actually sang! Great dancers though! Aoife and Regis were next up! Good friends, in a casual relationship (can I say that?!) sang Summer Nights from the movie Grease and again, not bad! James Hennessy was next to entertain everybody! He did Bones by The Killers, and it was his first time to give it a go, and me thinks he will be doing that again! More from him later. His mate Daniel was up next. Hailing from Australia, he did Snow (Hey Ho) by RHCP and the more I hear him sing this the more he sounds like them! Thanks Dan! Next we had a draw for a €100 bar tab! Yes thats right, €100 worth of drink from behind the bar! And the winner is....... Noreen, who already had a tab, but drank an extra €100 worth of champers!! Oh, and by the way she works in a Centra near you! Back to the singing now! Mark Walsh was next up for two songs. He did Bad Touch by The Bloodhound Gang and then Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash, and was as good as he is every time we see him. Dave McClean was your next singer. He did friends in low places by Garth Brooks, and he says he can only sing one song, well he does a super job of it! One of my favourites of the night. Another bloke up next, think thats 6 in a row! Brian Tallon sang Suspicious Minds by Elvis, and he was good, so good in fact I would guess it's not his first time to do it! My favourite singer of the night was next. Trina, from Naas in Co. Kildare was next. She did There must be an Angel by The Eurythmics, and ladies and gentlemen, she is superb! Hope to see her back again soon. Bernie Hennessy made her debut at a Just Entertainment gig last night. She sang I love rock and roll by Britney and she obviously takes after her brother, great stuff indeed! Ceaser from Brazil was joines by Ed from Englad to sing an all time classic. Their choice was Back in the USSR by The Beatles, and with a bit of practice they could be the new Robson and Jerome! Liz got everyone dancing next, with her great version of I Think We're Alone Now by Tiffaney, and I can see her becoming a regular too, great stuff Liz! Joanna and Trina were next up with a good version of 9-5 by Dolly Parton, love the dancing though! Dick Bishop, all the way from Wales was you next entertainer on stage. With a classic from Tom Jones, Delilah, he got all the hands high in the air, swaying from side to side! Regis got somebody else to sing with him. Kwamennr (excuse the spelling) joined him for Hey Jude by The Beatles (very popular band last night!), and again the kept the high standard up! Our final singer of the night was Daniel again. He finished off in style with We Will Rock You by Queen, and thanks to all the people for waving their hands in the air and clapping to the beat! We the handed over to Tony, your DJ who brought everyone through to the small hours of the morning. Thanks for reading and thanks for singing! Don't forget, Karaoke Sing a Long, Howl at the Moon, this and every Thursday from 9pm. It's just a bit of fun for a Thursday night! Over and out! Oh, by the way, coing next Thursday, Deal or no Deal, be there to check it out, and finally, over and out!
