Oasis Bar - Tuesday 6th March 2007

A busy start to the night on Tuesday, partly down to the fact that all the football (super reds!) were on, and also due to the fact that we were on! Staright into the singing after the football, and first up was Dan, who sang The Verve Song Sonnet, and just like last week he was excellent. Next up we had Fran who sang Two Out of Three ain't Bad by Meatloaf, and it was already evident that the standard of the night was going to be very high! Sexy Jennifer and Sexy Peter (there words by the way!) were up on stage after Fran. Peter, who is a Brian McFadden lookalike, did the Elton John part of the disco classic Don't go Breaking My Heart, and obviously Jennifer was Kiki Dee! Shane Wards biggest (and only??!!) fan was our next entertainer on stage! Jacki Roberts, all the way from Swords, did the beautiful Downtown by Petula Clarke, and it's easy to see and hear that Jackie is an old pro! Our mate, Gary Meade was dying to get up. Sitting in the VIP are all night(right), he decided to give Jackie a treat and he sang the Shane Ward hit, That's My Goal. We decided to keep Gary up on stage, and although he was busy smelling green shoes, he managed to sing the Inxs song Never Tear us Apart. Where does he come up with these tunes! Great to see him in the bar again. Another of the old hands at singing joined us on stage after Gary. Mr Dave Healy sang the Andy Williams track Can't Take My Eyes off You, although the rumour is that he is going to try Gone Fishing next week! Another lady from Swords was next up! Shirley did a top job of the No Doubt Song, Don't Speak, and hopefully we will see her in the Oasis Bar again very soon. Great to see our next singer back in the bar. Pamela, another Karaoke addict, did the one that she loves best and that is Days by the late and great Kirsty McCall. Next up, straight out of the VIP, was a surprise! He didn't know he was singing, but to the joy of everyone, he did. Danny Carter, as most would know, is renound for his singing of Neil Diamond, and despite my requests for Elvis, he didn't let the ladies down (that's a first!) and gave them what they wanted, which was America by Neil Diamond. Think he went to Tamango too.... Still haven't seen him since.... Wonder if Clare went too....?? Anyway, Clare (left) was our next singer on stage! She was in the mood for some disco, and belted out the disco favourite from Donna Summer, Hot Stuff. How good was she?? Put it this way, she got an invite to the VIP after that! My friend from France was up next! Weighing in at 6ft 5" is Paul Seymour. Coming from just outside of Paris, he did a song that has nothing to do with that, just thought I would give you a background on him! His favourite band are The Beatles (i think!) and he did, what I think is his best song, Twist and Shout, and as usual, it went down a bomb! Another gentleman was next up, and this guy is a true entertainer! He sang Cockney Rebel and Make Me Smile and was great, but I know the ladies still want I'm Too Sexy, hopefully if he is in next week, he will do it for us once again! What night would be complete without some Queen! And what night would be complete without Mick Lynch! He was our final singer on stage and did the one that always sends people into Tamango in a great mood, Radio Ga Ga, and as ever, all the hands were high in the air, so thanks Mick! We all went into Tamango to celebrate the Liverpool result and once again to have a dance with the man himself Jim Kenny. He is getting so good at dancing with all this practice! Don't forget, Karaoke, Oasis Bar,next Tuesday and every Tuesday from now and until the end of time! Over and out.
